The construction of a new shed saw the need for some piers & strip footings in very close proximity which would have caused some collapsing in the trenches, we had just the solution – bring in the twins (our 2 x 5 tonne excavators). The piers required were 900mm wide and 3.5m deep, the strip footing was 600mm wide and 600mm deep. We staggered the boring of the piers with one machine, whilst the other dug the footing alongside and we had no collapses!
